The Authentic Mexican Cheese Sauce is a thick, creamy cheese sauce with that subtle sheen of fat. You can see real pieces of chilli in the sauce. It looks as if the chef stirred it in himself that very morning.

Inspired by Mexican queso fundido

The Authentic Mexican Cheese Sauce is inspired by queso fundido – a warm Mexican dish of thick, melted cheese. The name literally means “melted cheese”. In Mexico it is often served in a small pan, with tortillas for dipping.

For extra flavour, jalapeños, chorizo or spices are often added. Our version contains real Mexican chilli peppers. They give the sauce just that extra bit of heat and an unmistakably Mexican flavour.

We already had two cheese sauces we are proud of. But one variety was still missing: a real, artisanal Mexican cheese sauce.

Artisanal look, without any extra effort

This sauce is deliberately not smooth and uniform. It also has a thicker texture than other cheese sauces. This makes it look homemade.

In the kitchen, the cheese sauce is above all one thing: easy. It is delivered frozen in handy 400-gram bags. You only thaw what you need and gently heat the sauce in a bain-marie. After that it is ready to serve straight away.

A sauce that looks as if you worked on it all morning – while you actually only need to heat it up. Exactly the kind of convenience we love.
